About

Michele Monticello

I’m passionate about recording life as it unfolds. I am inspired by my late father  and artist Valentino Monticello, a modern day Renaissance man. I shoot as honestly as possible, trying  to capture the things that light my soul and make me happy or move me in any shape or form.

“When people look at my pictures, I want them to feel the way they do when they want to read a line of a poem twice” (Robert Frank)

My mood reflects my choice of subjects, but I always try to let my heart dictate what to photograph. Sometimes my pictures make me feel sad but sometimes they make me smile and help me remember a magical moment.

I shoot film and digital, mainly Leica M9 & M6. My preferred focal lengths, 35 and 50mm I have an interest in Street Photography and fascinated by Visual Anthropology.
