My sister dropped off  her dog, who then rushed to the window to see where she had gone, he does this all the time. While the little Mohican fixated on seeing if he could spot her, I grabbed my camera. Still obsessing about my blurry shots from the day before, I put on my trusted 35mm and aimed and used him as target practice for 5 or 10 minutes. Someone had commented on my shots being burry or out of focus and suggested switching to an autofocus camera system, my feelings having been slightly hurt ever since.

I subscribe to many blogs and this afternoon I received one from Steve McCurry, the tittle was “All Creatures Great and Small” the first line read “until on has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.

Which made me think about my first dog, a beautiful long haired German Shepherd, which I had brought home from Battersea dogs Home. I was tempted to say I rescued her from Battersea dogs home but in reality she rescued me. She was my Heart Dog and definitely awoke a part of my soul, she has never left my side even though she is no longer here.
