I’m Looking for projects that need attention

I’ve been shooting a lot and this year and have had the opportunity to be part of local community documentation work, partly due to the recommendations of a good friend  Mark Rivlin 

This has really helped me focus on the style of photography that I enjoy the most, which is documentary photography.

I really enjoy being part of a story, I love taking a series of pictures that document events, which I guess is photography journalism.

I have particular interest in humanist photography and from a very early age was drawn in and inspired by the image of the Napalm Girl Phan Thi Kim Phuc  taken by Pulitzer Prize winner Nick Ut

The story is actually quite amazing. Nick was a photographer during the Vietnam war and took this picture when he was only 19 and they say that this image brought so much attention to the atrocities of war that it was the catalyst for ending the conflict. Such is the power of photography.

I have attached a link to an interview to Nick’s story which is incredible and I have also attached a link to Phan Thi Kim Phuc who is also an inspirational person and now a Unesco ambassador and motivational speaker. 

She says: “Forgiveness made me free from hatred. I still have many scars on my body and severe pain most days but my heart is cleansed. Napalm is very powerful, but faith, forgiveness and love are much more powerful.  We would not have war at all if everyone could learn to live with true love, hope, and forgiveness, if that little girl in the picture can do it, ask yourself can you.”

I want to be able to take photographs that make a difference, I want to take images that are part of making a positive change to the world, I spend most of my spare time taking photographs and I want to be able to apply my efforts to a cause that brings about a positive change or brings attention to a cause for good.

I have no formal photographic qualifications but I shoot from the gut and put my soul and heart into everything I do.

I’m looking for projects that need attention, I am available to work for free if the projects are for charities and working for the good of mankind. Help Me Help you take photograpahs.
