The Note Book Day 9
The Day After 888
9th February 19.44pm
It’s the end of the day, yesterday was 888 a very auspicious day and I expected something big happen and today was a very sad and meaningful day, today something happened that will change my life and in the process effect other peoples lives. I say this because the triple 888’s were not a coincidence it was a sign and has made me more conscious that it is important to be in a state of awareness.
I found myself in a slight state of nothingness and deep thinking and reflecting, I decided to go to the Don McCullin Exhibition at the Tate Gallery. I jumped on a bus and for whatever reason decided to jump off again near Battersea, a bench in a salvage shop had caught my attention, further along the road a groomers shop caught my eye there was a big scruffy dog in the window. I grabbed the shot and jumped back on the bus, deciding to go to the new Leica Store and try a couple of 90mm lens.
As the buss pulled into Sloane Square I thought that I’d seen blood staines on the floor, click with my camera. I really was not in the mood for taking pictures but when I have my camera with me I just can’t help pulling the trigger.
I then passed a sign on the floor that looked like it was pointing towards a shop, SNAP. I jumped off the bus at Green Park and started walking towards the Leica store in Mayfair, then purely by COINCIDENCE I saw a shop with A Don McCullin book illuminate in the window, reminding me of my mission for the day.
I ended up the in the Leica store, I tried the 90mm Summaritt and 90mm Summicron and having looked at the images I can’t decide which lens a preferred. I literally took a couple of shots. I think I prefer the Summicron but its a tough call, I’m thinking of upgrading to a 35mm Summulux so took a quick shot with one and this lens had a wonderful texture to the image.
I decided I wasn’t in the mood for the Tate Modern and decided to head back home so Don I hope to see you soon.
